Southey Contracting, founded in 1939 originally to offer an industrial painting service to mines and to heavy industry, has now become the largest industrial painting and thermal insulation contracting company in South Africa. The company has been involved in all the mega projects undertaken in South Africa since the construction of Sasol 1.
The success of Southey Contracting in South Africa created a demand for its services outside of the country borders, such as in Zambia and the DRC where they are heavily involved in the copper mining industry. Further Southey Contracting operations, in Namibia, Angola, Gabon and more recently in Oman, on the Arabian Peninsula, concentrate on regional industrial infrastructures.
The industries in which Southey Contracting operates are:
• Oil and Gas
• Power Generation
• Iron and Steel
• Pulp and Paper
• General Engineering
